Desinfection with UVC144 and UVC300 : use & validation

Use

Using the UVC300 and 144 for disinfection/decontamination/sterilization of a dental office or any other room is very easy. After placing the lamp in the center of the room to be disinfected, follow the indications below:

  • Press the red power button
  • Set the timer to the desired disinfection duration (2’30”, 3’30” or 5 ′)
  • Press the start button, a beep sounds
  • You have 20 seconds to leave the room (time adjustable by our installer)
  • After 20 seconds, the lamp turns on for the duration of disinfection/sterilization and then stops at the end of the timer sequence
  • It is then possible to enter the room and switch off the UVC lamp.
  • In the event of inadvertent entry into the room, the UVC lamp will automatically stop when one of the 4 motion detectors is triggered
  • If you need to enter the room while the lamp is on, simply turn it off using the remote control supplied with the device.
  • If necessary, an emergency stop button of the “punch” type is provided on the device
  • It is recommended to close the windows to prevent air intake that could disrupt the disinfection (no drafts) as well as to prevent UVC rays from reaching passers-by or neighbors.
  • UVC144-300 can also disinfect clothing such as gowns, overalls, fabric masks, etc.

Maintenance

The UVC300-144 does not require any special maintenance. Tubing replacement will likely be necessary after 4 to 5 years (9000 hours of operation guaranteed by the UVC tubes manufacturer Philips). Do not touch or clean the tubes, fingerprints will reduce the effectiveness of the lamp.

Validation of disinfection

To check the effectiveness of the disinfection of the lamp, UVC dosimeters in the form of stickers are placed on the walls, equipment, floor and ceiling and make it possible to confirm the effectiveness of the disinfection by changing the color of the sticker (from yellow to red). See specific tab “Validation decontamination”.

Compared to the ventilation air purification system, the latter takes about 25 minutes to disinfect a room without treating the surfaces or the floor. Only UVC144 and 300 can completely disinfect air and surfaces in minutes.
